Fill weight by powder density
Approximate fill weight in milligrams = capsule volume × tapped density of your powder. Real fill weights also depend on flow, compaction and your filling machine.

How to choose a size
- Measure the tapped density of your blend (g/mL).
- Divide your target fill weight by the density to get the volume you need. Example: 500 mg ÷ 0.6 g/mL ≈ 0.83 mL.
- Choose the smallest size with enough volume. In the example, size 00 (0.91 mL) fits; size 0 (0.68 mL) does not.
- Consider swallowability for your end users and the change parts available for your filling machine.
